Legal paperwork shouldn’t feel like something only lawyers can understand or afford. But for a long time, that’s exactly how it felt — especially in Canada, where rules can vary by province and reliable templates aren’t always easy to find.
Who We Are
Legal Templates Canada is founded and led by Andres Iglesias, a Canada-based legal professional and LSO (Law Society of Ontario) candidate with international legal training. Andres is NCA (National Committee on Accreditation) qualified and CPLED certified, with hands-on experience in legal operations, contract drafting, and legal content development.
At legaltemplate.ca, Andres focuses on creating clear, practical legal templates and guides grounded in Canadian legal frameworks. His goal is to simplify complex legal concepts into easy-to-use resources that help individuals and businesses handle everyday legal documents with confidence — without needing to pay expensive legal fees for routine paperwork.
Why We Built This
This project started with a simple observation. While working in the legal field, we noticed a consistent gap: many people — freelancers, small business owners, landlords, and individuals handling personal matters — were searching for basic legal documents tailored to their province. What they found instead was either expensive services, overly complex legal language, or generic templates that didn’t reflect Canadian requirements.
People needed a simple lease agreement in Ontario, a bill of sale in British Columbia, or a service agreement in Alberta. The need was clear, but the options weren’t. Some templates were locked behind paywalls. Others were copied across regions without accounting for local legal differences. And for many, hiring a lawyer for everyday documents simply wasn’t practical.
That’s where LegalTemplates.ca came in.
Our Approach
Our goal is not to replace legal professionals or provide legal advice. It is to make everyday legal documentation more accessible — to give people a starting point that is clear, structured, and relevant to Canadian law.
Every template on this site is carefully drafted with accuracy and usability in mind:
- Province-specific — each document reflects the legal requirements of the relevant province, not a one-size-fits-all approach
- Plain language — no unnecessary jargon, no confusing structure; just practical documents written the way people actually speak
- Reviewed for accuracy — templates are aligned with Canadian legal frameworks and reviewed to ensure they make sense in real-world use
- Regularly updated — as laws evolve and user needs change, we update and expand our library to keep everything current
Our Commitment
We believe everyone deserves access to reliable legal tools — without needing a law degree or spending thousands on legal fees. Whether you’re starting a small business, renting out a property, or simply putting an agreement in writing, finding the right document should be straightforward.
That’s what Legal Templates Canada is here for.
